Boosting the Family Sedan
Project to get a DSM turbo on the Honda Accord.

Last update: August 16, 2002

Introduction:
DISCLAIMER: If you hose your Accord, its not my problem :)

This whole fiasco started with a guy on HondaSociety who has strapped a DSM (from here on DSM will mean = Eclipse/Talon) to his hybrid Accord. I'm not going to go into his setup deeply, but essentially he put a Eclipse GST/GSX turbo manifold on an F22B. This engine shares the same exhaust flange as the F22A1/4/6 and H23A1. The unnamed person on HondaSociety has been less than helpful, and kind of uppity about his little toy (in my opinion). So between myself and a few other people ... I'm attempting to put all information in ONE place for people to see.

I'm not going the same route as other people.. as you will see. I'm actually going to build a motor to handle more boost. So hopefully that information wont throw you off or distract you from the task at hand.

This is (as most of my projects :D ) a work in progress so please dont nag me.

Parts List:
I guess the best place to start is the PARTS LIST. Once again this is work in progress. This is what I have so far:

  • eBay - Archer Bros. Tubular DSM Manifold; $200.00
  • eBay - A good T-25 Turbo w/internal wastegate; $130.00
  • eBay - GReddy Type-S BOV; $169.00
  • eBay - GReddy steel BOV flange; $25.00
  • eBay - generic manual boost controller; $20.00
  • Local Junk Yard - F22A1; $200.00

    Making the Manifold Fit:
Workin on it... waiting on the manifold I bought to show up. Check out the gallery with Howitt's (from HondaSociey) modified manifold. I plan on welding in the holes to mine and redrill pressing it... we'll see if I get the motivation to do that though.
